Who comes to classes?
Polepeople classes are for fun and fitness so everyone is welcome. Our classes have a supportive and friendly atmosphere where everyone is welcome no matter what your age, shape or size. On one course in Old Street, we had two lawyers, a circus performer, one woman who’d just had a baby, a journalist, a student, a personal trainer, two designers, an academic and a TV producer!

Do I have to be super fit to join?
Everyone is welcome no matter what your fitness level. Women of all levels of fitness can join our classes. Many women are overjoyed to at last have found a form of exercise that they actually enjoy (excluding you know what) whereas others pole dance to supplement working out in the gym, playing tennis, jogging etc. During each 6 week course you’ll find yourself getting fitter and more toned, and discovering muscles you never knew existed. Swinging and dancing round a pole is very exertive, so you’ll be feeling fitter by the end no matter how fit you were at the start!

How do I book my place on a course?
Have a look at the when and where page for the times and places of our courses to see which one is best for you. Then email vitalia@polepeople.co.uk or call 0207 287 5212 to check availability. Your place on a course is confirmed when we receive either an £80 deposit or the full amount of £150. We accept cards over the phone.

What happens if I have to miss a class?
If you’re unable to make it to one of your classes during the course, let us know in advance and you’re welcome to join in with another course to make up the session you missed. Or come to one of the open classes.

How many people are there on a course?
Between 8 and 14 depending on how many poles we have at the venue.

How many poles are there at Polepeople venues?
'Play' in Old Street, 'Living' in Brixton, 'Bar Rumba' in the West End, 'Holmes Place' in Putney, 'Nectar' in Chelsea and 'The Bedford' in Balham have 4 poles. 'Bar Bollywood' in Mayfair, 'JK Studios' in Clapham, 'Aquilla' in South Kensington, 'Expressions' in Kentish Town, 'Cucumba' in Soho, 'The Alchemist' in Clapham and 'Portobello Green Fitness Club' have 3 poles.

What do I wear to classes?
For lots of the tricks in pole dancing you will need bare legs to be able to grip the pole, so we recommend that you wear shorts. You can wear something longer as long as you can hoist / roll it up when necessary! A t-shirt is best for your top half and comfortable heels are great for the dancing. But flat shoes are fine if you're not a heels kind of lady! Please also bring trainers for the warm-up.
